Jasprit Bumrah in action for India, explaining his absence from the top 100 in ICC T20I rankings due to injury hiatus.

Jasprit Bumrah stands as one of the finest white-ball bowlers globally, reigning as the top bowler in the Indian Cricket Team. However, despite his exceptional skills, Bumrah’s name is notably absent from the top 100 ICC T20I rankings, leaving many puzzled. The primary cause for this lies in his prolonged absence from cricket due to injury.

Absence from Top 100 ICC Rankings
Presently, Jasprit Bumrah holds the 110th spot in the ICC T20I rankings for bowlers. His recent standout performance in the IND vs PAK clash at the ICC T20 World Cup highlighted his prowess. Bumrah’s exceptional bowling played a pivotal role in India’s defense of a modest target of 120, securing a crucial 6-run victory for the Men in Blue.

Injury Impacts Ranking Position
A significant setback in Bumrah’s career occurred in July 2022 when he suffered a back injury, sidelining him for an extended period. This injury forced him out of action, including key tournaments like the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. To address his stress fracture, Bumrah underwent surgery, marking a lengthy recovery process.

Although Bumrah returned to action in August 2023, his involvement in T20I matches has been limited since then. His sparse appearances in T20I games resulted in his exclusion from the top 100 ICC T20I rankings. However, with his return to form and fitness, Bumrah is poised to climb back up the rankings ladder in the near future.
