Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma with Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan

Virat Kohli, one of India’s most celebrated cricketers, and his wife, Bollywood star Anushka Sharma, recently visited the revered Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan. The couple, joined by their children Vamika and Akaay, sought blessings amidst Kohli’s challenging phase in cricket following the Border-Gavaskar series.

A Rough Patch for Kohli
Kohli had a mixed performance in the series against Australia. Despite starting strong with a century in the first match, his overall tally of 190 runs in nine innings fell short of expectations. The series ended in a 1-3 loss for India, triggering harsh criticism from fans and former players alike. With retirement rumors for Kohli and Rohit Sharma swirling, the visit to Premanand Maharaj appears to be a moment of reflection and solace for the star cricketer.

A Heartfelt Interaction with Premanand Maharaj
During the visit, a video captured the family receiving blessings from Maharaj. Anushka shared her spiritual experience, saying, “Last time we came, I had questions but didn’t voice them. Later, I realized others had similar queries, and Maharaj answered them indirectly in his sermons.” Maharaj commended their devotion, remarking, “Their fame makes such humility rare. Anushka’s faith is inspiring, and it will guide Virat too.”

Spirituality and Cricket
This isn’t the first time Kohli and Anushka have turned to spirituality. Known for their faith in Lord Krishna, the couple often visits temples and participates in devotional activities. With the Australian series behind them and a new white-ball challenge against England ahead, this visit seems to have offered Kohli a much-needed spiritual recharge.

Kohli’s Upcoming Challenges
The series against England kicks off on January 22 in Kolkata, featuring both T20Is and ODIs. This marks a new chapter for Kohli, who, along with Rohit and Jadeja, retired from T20Is after India’s World Cup 2024 win. Looking ahead, Kohli is set to face Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy opener on February 20 in Dubai.

The visit to Premanand Maharaj’s ashram symbolizes more than a break; it reflects Kohli and Anushka’s efforts to balance fame, faith, and personal growth amid professional challenges.
