Cricket fans, it’s official! The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the much-anticipated schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The excitement begins on March 22, 2025, and the grand finale will be held on May 25, 2025, marking the 18th edition of the iconic tournament.
The tournament will feature 74 thrilling matches across 13 venues, including 12 high-energy double-headers. Afternoon games will start at 03:30 PM IST, while evening matches will begin at 07:30 PM IST. Fans can expect plenty of action, including the opening game between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 22, 2025.
The very next day, March 23, will feature a double-header. The first match will see Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) face off against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad, followed by a thrilling evening match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), two of the most successful teams in IPL history, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the following days, the action continues. Delhi Capitals (DC) will meet Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Visakhapatnam on March 24, 2025, and Gujarat Titans (GT) will host Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Ahmedabad on March 25, 2025.
This year, DC, RR, and PBKS will each play some of their home games at two different venues. DC will split their matches between Visakhapatnam and New Delhi. RR’s home games will be at Guwahati and Jaipur, while PBKS will host their matches in both New Chandigarh and Dharamsala.
After the league stage, the Playoffs will take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator on May 20 and May 21, respectively, followed by Qualifier 2 in Kolkata on May 23. The final showdown will take place in Kolkata on May 25, 2025, where the IPL 2025 champion will be crowned!
