The Mumbai Cricket Association not only honored Rohit Sharma, but also paid tribute to legends like Ajit Wadekar and Sharad Pawar by naming stands after them. But for Rohit, the day was about more than just recognition. It was a boyhood dream—realized.
“I never imagined this. As a kid, I just wanted to play for Mumbai and India. To now have my name among cricketing greats—it’s unreal,” he said.
Despite retiring from T20Is and Test cricket, Rohit made it clear that he’s not done yet. “I still play one format. Playing here on the 21st for Mumbai Indians will be surreal. But to play for India at Wankhede again—that’s the dream.”
