Pakistan’s early exit from the Champions Trophy 2025 has sparked massive discussions about changes in their team and management. With speculation swirling about Aaqib Javed’s tenure as head coach coming to an end, fans are already wondering who might take over leadership roles in Pakistan cricket.
But amidst all the serious talks, a lighthearted moment stole the show in a discussion featuring Ajay Jadeja, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis.
A Foreign PCB Chairman?
During the DP World Dressing Room show, a fan posed an unexpected question: Could a foreigner take up the role of PCB chairman?
Wasim Akram was the first to respond, saying:
🗣️ “It’s the sort of position that invites a lot of attention. Press conferences every day—I doubt the board would be open to getting a foreign name onboard.”
Just as the conversation was getting serious, Waqar Younis pointed towards Ajay Jadeja, sparking laughter in the panel.
Ajay Jadeja’s Hilarious Response
Jadeja, known for his quick wit, responded in classic style:
🗣️ “Wasim bhai ke bacche hain, mere bhi hain… (Wasim Akram has kids, I do too…).”
He then took a more thoughtful approach, explaining:
🗣️ “The PCB chairman’s job has two aspects—the administrative side and the sporting side. The two can be separated. Fans don’t care about profits or stadium development; they want to see how their cricket is progressing.”
His statement left the panel laughing, while also raising a valid point about the challenges of cricket administration.
Meanwhile, Team India Marches On!
While Pakistan deals with off-field drama, India has already qualified for the Champions Trophy semi-finals and still has one more group game left against New Zealand on March 2. Interestingly, their opponents, the Kiwis, have also secured a spot in the next round.
