A wave of frustration has gripped cricket lovers as chaos over tickets for IND vs SA Women’s World Cup 2025 final erupted on social media. The grand finale between India Women and South Africa Women at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai has become the talk of the town — but not for the right reasons.

Fans were left in disbelief after BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner, displayed a “sold out” message well before the event. Even more confusing was the fact that ticket sales went live only for a short window, and within hours, disappeared without explanation.

Ticket confusion leaves fans fuming
At noon on October 22, BookMyShow announced via X (formerly Twitter) that ticket sales for the final would go live at 6 PM, with pre-sale running from October 22 to 24, and general sales beginning later that evening. But despite the announcement, by the time most fans tried to book, tickets had already vanished.

Some lucky few managed to book early, but the majority faced repeated “coming soon” and “sold out” messages. Many called out the platform for lack of clarity.

“I bought tickets for the final on 24th via BookMyShow. They were available until the semifinal. Then, booking was suspended and later showed ‘sold out’. They should just tell the truth,” said Piyush Nathani, an ardent fan who attended all three Navi Mumbai games.

Tickets sold before India reached final?
The controversy deepened after Times of India reported that the tickets were “sold out” nearly eight days before Saturday — which means around October 24, the very day general sales were supposed to begin. Even more shockingly, this was before India qualified for the final by defeating Australia on October 30.

This raised serious questions: How could the tickets be sold out when the finalists weren’t even decided? Fans began to suspect either early bulk bookings or mismanagement from the organizers.

By Friday, 48 hours before the match, BookMyShow continued to show “Coming soon.” But on Saturday, less than 24 hours before the final, the message abruptly changed to “Sold Out.” Screenshots of the error message soon flooded social media.

Fans slam BookMyShow and BCCI
Outraged supporters took to X to demand accountability from both BookMyShow and the BCCI. Many questioned the lack of transparency, while others accused the ticketing system of unfair practices.

“Every time there’s a big match, it’s the same story — tickets disappear before we even get a chance,” wrote one user. Another added, “How are tickets sold out when we never got access to the booking page?”

Adding fuel to the fire, fans also noticed a sudden spike in ticket prices, with some alleging that rates jumped from ₹150–₹500 to much higher amounts just days before the event.

Call for better ticketing transparency
With emotions running high, calls for a more transparent and reliable system grew louder. Cricket enthusiasts urged the BCCI and ICC to step in and ensure fans aren’t denied access in future events due to poor planning or communication errors.

For now, the excitement for the India vs South Africa Women’s World Cup 2025 final is mixed with anger and disappointment. Fans who couldn’t get tickets are expected to tune in from home — but not without voicing their frustration.
