Gautam Gambhir denies rift with Virat Kohli, says media fights are for TRP

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli’s on-field clashes are well-known, but the new India Cricket Team head coach insists that their relationship is solid. Gambhir praised Kohli, calling him a top athlete and a thorough professional, while pointing out that their supposed fights are just media fodder for boosting TRP ratings.

“Great for TRPs, but my relationship with Kohli is private. On the field, we fight for our teams, but right now, we are both representing India,” Gambhir stated in a press conference.

Gambhir emphasized that he has a good relationship with Virat Kohli. He described Kohli as a top professional and said they are both committed to working for Team India.

“I have a very good relationship with him. We have had many opportunities to talk. The specifics are not important. What matters is that we both work hard to make India proud. He is a world-class player and a true professional,” Gambhir concluded.

In the IPL 2023, Gambhir, representing LSG, and Kohli, had a heated exchange, making headlines as the two Delhi cricketers engaged in a verbal spat. Now, Gambhir clarifies that there is no ongoing rift, and they share a good bond, ready to work together for the country.
