Chris Tetley, ICC’s head of events, shed light on the dimensions of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, revealing striking similarities to Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
“The Nassau County ground is not a token-sized ground – it is 75 yards east-west and 67 yards north-south from the center. It is similar to the size of Wankhede,” Tetley explained.
Wankhede Stadium is renowned for its high-scoring encounters, a factor that could favor India, known for their formidable batting lineup. In the 2023 ODI World Cup semifinal held at Wankhede, India and New Zealand witnessed a run fest, highlighting the potential for mammoth totals on such pitches.
