Cricket legends rejecting India's head coach job

It seems like India’s head coach job is the hottest potato in the cricketing world right now—nobody wants to touch it! After nearly three years at the helm, Rahul Dravid has decided to step down. His friend and current NCA head, VVS Laxman, isn’t keen either. And now, Harbhajan Singh has also joined the list of high-profile rejectors.

The BCCI is having a tough time finding a new head coach for India, as cricket legends are taking a pass on this high-pressure gig. Harbhajan is the latest addition to a list that includes names like Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Stephen Fleming, Andy Flower, Tom Moody, Mahela Jayawardene, and Kumar Sangakkara. Coaching Team India seems like a dream job, but for these cricketing stars, it’s a no-go.

In an interview with the Times of India, Harbhajan explained his decision, saying this isn’t the right time for him to take on such a demanding role. With a young family to look after, he feels he can’t dedicate the necessary time and effort right now. However, he left the door open for future opportunities.

“I don’t think I will be able to give that much time right now. At this stage of my life, I have a young family, and I need to be around them and look after them. Yes, when the right time comes, I will put my foot forward and say I am ready for it,” Harbhajan Singh said.

So, for now, the search continues for India’s next head coach. Will the BCCI find someone willing to take on this massive responsibility? Stay tuned, cricket fans!
