Whenever Rishabh Pant is keeping wicket, it’s like having a built-in commentator—one with a sharp sense of humor! During the recent Duleep Trophy clash between India A and India B, Pant, known for his cheeky remarks, stole the show again. This time, his comic banter with India’s one-and-only Chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav, had everyone in splits—twice!
On Day 4 of the first round, with India A struggling at 147 for 7 while chasing 275, Kuldeep Yadav was grinding it out, trying to keep the game alive. That’s when Pant’s entertaining side came out. As Kuldeep looked like he might sneak in a single, Pant humorously asked the fielders to close in. Kuldeep, not one to back down, replied, “I’m not moving!” Pant shot back with a witty gem, “Maa kasam kha le!” (Swear on your mom!)
Rishabh – isko single lene de , bhaut tagda plan banaya hai
Kuldeep- thi h yaar , kyu pareshaan ho rha
Rishabh – Toh phir out ho jaa na 😂
Funniest banter you ever listen

Pant wasn’t done. In the 43rd over, as Kuldeep looked ready to take on the India B bowlers, Pant’s comic timing was impeccable. From behind the stumps, he instructed the cover fielder to open up, saying, “We’ve got a ‘plan’ to dismiss him.” But he wasn’t finished. “Isko single lene de, iske liye bohot tagda plan banaaya hai,” (Let him take a single; I’ve set a solid plan for him), Pant added with a grin. Kuldeep, playing along, replied, “Theek hai yaar, kyun pareshaan ho raha hai” (Alright, don’t stress!). Pant’s final punchline? “Phir out ho na jaldi” (Then get out quickly!).

Will Pant Feature in the India vs Bangladesh Test?
There’s a high chance we’ll see Rishabh Pant in the upcoming India vs Bangladesh Test series, starting September 19. After a stellar performance in the Duleep Trophy, where he smashed a quick 61 for India B, Pant has made a strong case to reclaim the wicketkeeper position. Meanwhile, KL Rahul, who managed 57 runs for India A, seems to be losing steam. All signs point to Pant donning the India Test jersey soon!
