Milind Kumar celebrating his record-breaking 155 run knock in ODI cricket.

Believe it or not, cricket history has a new twist! Milind Kumar, a former Ranji Trophy top scorer who now bats for the USA, has achieved something truly unique. In a recent ODI against UAE, Kumar smashed a brilliant 155 runs – but that’s not all! This score marks the first time ever a player has finished an ODI innings with exactly 155.

That’s right, in the entire 53-year history of ODI cricket, with thousands of matches played, no batter has managed this feat! There have been plenty of scores between 150 and 159, but Kumar’s knock stands out for its oddball precision.

But Kumar is no one-hit wonder. This 33-year-old powerhouse averaged nearly 50 runs in first-class cricket back in India’s competitive domestic scene. He even dominated the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season as the highest run-scorer and has experience with IPL giants like Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Remember his name, cricket fans! Kumar was also part of the sensational USA squad that surprised everyone during the 2024 T20 World Cup by reaching the Super 8s.

His record-breaking 155 came during the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two stage, a crucial step towards the 2027 World Cup. This knock powered USA to a massive 339/4, leading them to a comfortable victory.

Currently sitting second in the League Two table, USA is proving they’re a force to be reckoned with, even against seasoned teams like Netherlands and Scotland. With just two points separating them from leaders Canada, and having played fewer games, their path to the 2027 World Cup looks promising!
