The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the nominees for the Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for April, recognizing outstanding performances across international cricket. The shortlist for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month comprises three exceptional cricketers who left a mark during April’s contests.
Women’s Player of the Month Nominees:

- Hayley Matthews

Leading the nominees is Sri Lanka’s captain Chamari Athapaththu, lauded for her phenomenal run-scoring feats during tours in South Africa and the UAE. Athapaththu’s standout performance included a breathtaking unbeaten 195 against South Africa, setting a record in Potchefstroom.
West Indies’ Hayley Matthews secured her spot with her all-round brilliance in Pakistan, scoring two ODI centuries and contributing with the ball, while South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt showcased her batting prowess with consistent performances, including a national record-breaking 184 in an ODI.

On the men’s side, Pakistan’s pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi headlines the nominees for his exceptional displays against New Zealand. Afridi’s remarkable bowling figures were instrumental in Pakistan’s series draw against New Zealand, including a spell of 3 wickets for 13 runs and 4 wickets for 30 runs in the second and final T20I, respectively.
Namibia’s captain Gerhard Erasmus showcased his leadership skills, guiding his team to victory in Oman with impactful performances with both bat and ball. UAE’s Muhammad Waseem’s consistent batting, including a century in the ACC Premier Cup final, earned him recognition.
