With the T20 World Cup 2024 drawing near with each passing day, various aspects of the tournament are getting finalized ahead of the gala affair. ICC on Wednesday announced the list of umpires to officiate in the tournament. While the list bears the name of an umpire from Bangladesh who will become the first umpire from the country to officiate in the T20 World Cup, it has also revealed the names of the officials who will stand behind the stumps in the India vs Pakistan Group Stage match on January 9th.
Umpires for IND vs PAK Decided
Richard Illingworth and Rodney Tucker will be the on-field umpires for the high-profile India vs Pakistan tie on June 9th in New York. David Boon will be the match referee while Chris Gaffaney will be the TV umpire.
A First from Bangladesh
When Shahid Saikat officiates the opening match between the USA and Canada, he will become the first umpire from Bangladesh to officiate at the T20 World Cup.
