New Delhi [India], May 7 (ANI): USA cricketer Nisarg Patel, while expressing his admiration for former India skipper MS Dhoni, revealed his intention to seek guidance from ‘Men in Blue’ all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
In an interaction with ANI, Nisarg expressed his admiration for Jadeja, highlighting his proficiency as a left-arm spinner who excels with the bat as well.
“MS Dhoni is my favorite, but since he has retired, I’m eager to learn from Ravindra Jadeja, who resembles my style of play. Even a small tip from him can be immensely beneficial for me,” Nisarg told ANI.
Speaking about the T20 World Cup 2024, the USA cricketer expressed excitement about the opportunity to compete on the global stage for the first time.
“We are extremely thrilled. The anticipation for this T20 World Cup has been immense, and it’s a monumental opportunity for us to participate in our maiden World Cup. Facing formidable teams like India and Pakistan is a dream come true for us, and we are eagerly anticipating the moment,” he added.
“Given the chance, even a brief interaction with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah would be invaluable for our learning,” Nisarg further emphasized.
Earlier, USA unveiled their 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup, with Corey Anderson set to join a select group of cricketers to represent two different teams at the global event. The team, led by 31-year-old wicket-keeper batter Monank Patel, features a blend of experienced campaigners and promising talents from the recent T20I series against Canada, which they won 4-0.
The squad includes notable names such as opener Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, and Saurabh Netravalkar, alongside off-spinner Milind Kumar, who made his debut in the same series.
