Wasim Jaffer in discussions to become Punjab's next cricket coach

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer is in discussions with the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to take on the role of head coach. If finalized, Jaffer will succeed his former Mumbai teammate, Avishkar Salvi. According to Cricbuzz, talks are progressing, and an official announcement could be made soon.

Is Wasim Jaffer the next Punjab coach? Reports indicate that Jaffer is the leading candidate, especially after Salvi recently joined the women’s cricket team as their bowling coach. With the domestic season, including the Vijay Hazare Trophy, just around the corner, there’s anticipation that some senior Indian players may return to the domestic scene, making this coaching position even more pivotal.

In other coaching news, Tinu Yohannan has been appointed as the head coach for Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming domestic season. Yohannan previously coached Kerala for five years and served as a scout for the Delhi Capitals. Additionally, Sulakshan Kulkarni is stepping in as the new coach for Tamil Nadu after a previous stint ended due to differences over his conduct and comments post-Ranji Trophy.
