Nepal Cricket Team has been slapped with a major blow. Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has claimed that he has been denied a visa to the USA. This means he will be unable to take part in the ICC T20 World Cup. Lamichhane claims that, like in 2019, he has once again been denied a visa for the upcoming ICC tournament.

No Sandeep Lamichhane in T20 World Cup

Initially, Nepal didn’t include Sandeep’s name in the T20 World Cup squad. This was mainly due to the fact that the player had to serve a jail sentence and needed clearance from the ICC. He was, however, cleared of his rape charges by the court.

This meant that he needed ICC’s clearance. But it was understood that after the clearance from the court, the most successful cricketer from Nepal was slated to be added to the squad.

While charged, the player was suspended from international and domestic cricket. But after being cleared of charges, he was expected to be a part of the squad.

Nepal T20 World Cup Squad:

Rohit Paudel (c), Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratis GC, Sundeep Jora, Abinash Bohara, Sagar Dhakal, Kamal Singh Airee
