Manu Bhaker has scripted one of the most incredible moments in Indian sports history by winning a bronze medal in the 10mm pistol shooting event at the Paris Olympics. As the first Indian female athlete to medal in this category, Bhaker’s achievement is monumental. Out of the eight finalists, she secured third place with a score of 221.7 points, narrowly missing the gold by just 0.1 marks. This historic moment came after a challenging experience at the Tokyo Olympics, where a pistol malfunction had marred her performance. Bhaker’s remarkable comeback made her the first Indian woman in 20 years to reach an Olympic shooting final since Suma Shirur in 2004. The gold was clinched by South Korea’s Ye Jin with an Olympic record of 243.2 points, and her compatriot Kim Yeji took the silver with 241.3 points.
